HS was 165. Still found 4F facets between 15 and 40 cm from ground. While the structure was obviously poor the stability tests were lessalarming but still a concer. CT28-SC at 40 cm from ground (non-standard as the column was over 120 cm). ECTX BUT with two extra strong hits, full propogation at the facet leter around 40cm. The problem is still there....in places....and it is more stubborn. The near 1 meter of pencil hard snow in the middle of the pack is certainly bridging (but I hate to rely on bridging).

This was one pit of 11 for an AAI Rec Level 2 course.....most pits had the stubborn weak layer at the bottom. At a few locations the weak layer was not evident. Picture of pit below and rounding facets in the weak layer below 40cm.
