Problem #1 Comments
Finally getting buried, caution still needed but no red flags from our group today besides a dry loose avalanche across Highway to Heaven (still closed). Presumed natural with no tracks and slid on hefty ice crust at 10,100 feet elevation facing East with a slight southerly aspect.
Comments
Consistent overcast with light flurries and temps in the teens to mid twenties. Wind behaved all day with 5-10 mph. Pretty thick (1 - 1.5 inch) NOT supportable rain crust anywhere < 8,500 but surprisingly became supportable above this and really good skiing at > 9,000 feet with 5-6 inches of fresh. Observed the dry loose Avy which I am sure failed above this layer. Overall great day of skiing when we got up high. Earn those turns peeps!
