Comments
3" of new snow reported at Alta. Pink Pine didn't get as much but wind deposits were variable in the area. Wind gusts were pretty strong as we skinned up the Pink Pine Ridge. We pushed on a couple of small cornices and noticed fracturing and unstable snow albeit only a few inches deep. Once at the top of Red Right Returning, we made some attempts to ski cut and jump on the snowpack to get it to react. After a few tries using two of us, we did get it to break and it propagated about 20' at the top at about 6-8" at the crown and ran full distance to the apron. Snow conditions underneath were solid crust and we skied down without any issues.
