While we did not get any whoomphs today, there was enough new snow at a high enough density that in some places that hadn't yet avalanched on the PWL it was very conceivable that they could get overloaded; ie there could be less "talking" by the snowpack...until it awakens with a roar.
That said, I dug a quick pit at about 9k NE facing and found that there was at least good bonding of the new snow to the old; at least on that aspect. But there are lots of other surfaces (windjack) where there may not be as good bonding. The bond of the slab to the sugar at the base of the 'pack was not good, of course, but wasn't quite as scarily-reactive as the one that Greg found not far away on Thursday.
Of note, the El Rollo slide from late last week was not visible, so it (and presumably others that ran last week) is now reloaded, likely on a slippery surface. Keeping track of what has slid may come in handy if these storms continue to produce.
