The pit location was very protected from the wind. All upper elevations we saw strong winds and significant snow transport. We also observed a short pulse of graupel around 11am.

We observed all sorts of surface snow conditions due to the strong winds in the last 24 hours. Wind skins, sastrugi, and powder. Skiing conditions were not as good as expected. There was a definite trap door hollow feeling.

We kept expecting to see failures in the N/O snow interface "new persistent weak layer" but none were found. We only found failures in a density change in the new snow from Thursday.
