Comments
Below the ~30 cm of new/wind loaded snow was a crust, assuming sun baked layer that developed between storms. Below the crust the remainder of the snowpack looked optimistic. Snow along the ground was well bonded and dense, snowball worthy.
During my extended column test I observed a collapse in the previously mentioned crust on ECT 13, and a much less significant collapse at a heavy ECT 17. Slabs in the snowpack did move when prying the column loose. I did not see the movement and ECT 17 as red flags. Both layers were bonded well and required a significant amount of force to react.
