Comments
Went up to Catherine's Pass for a snow check and was again pleasantly surprised by the coverage. I wouldn't dare fully open up on a turn just yet, but I did find 80cm of snow at 10,250' on a N facing slope. Similar to Drew's obs from Collins yesterday, the snow currently seems right-side up with damp snow towards the ground. Storm snow up high totaled about a foot of medium to high density snow. There were no obvious signs of instability between the new and old snow interface while in the ping-pong ball, although a few hand-pit tests along the way kept this uncertainty high. I wouldn't be surprised if the fog was hiding sluffs on steeper slopes. Overall, pretty good conditions for tactical riding.
