Comments
We toured up North Fork, near Chilly Peak from 7am-12pm. All morning, beginning at 7600', we found dry soft snow in both sheltered and open areas. Between 7600' and 8200' 3/4 handpits failed with medium pressure on a graupel layer approx 30cm down.
At 6600' 12pm on steep solar aspects near Cobble Creek we triggered some very small avalanches. They were 1" deep and propagated approx 15 ft. We thought these could have been small wind slabs that were wet from rapid warming. We also observed some roller balls below 6600' but they did not seem to collect enough snow to be alarming.
