Comments
Tour was above 9500 on n side of compass. No issues today other than minor sluffing north west facing. Very good snow ne-nw can still be found. New snow is coming. I will report on current snow surface-soon to be old snow.
Comments below are for 9500 and above.
Ne-nw there are small grain surface facets. The wind at 9am east in low teens on the peak with 0 snow transport.. The wind switched @11am to Sw and picked up gust upper teens with very light snow transport of these surface facets. Wind is supposed to pick up.
West crust. There are facets under and some places on top of a west crust that is 1-2" thick 1" below surface. Pulling on the 1"-2" crust there is some bonding.
I didnt check out east facing slopes but i suspect east baked a bit harder than west this week.
Storm comes in warm n windy. We will see how the new snow bonds to the old snow.
It was still cold exit @ 1pm with a nice breeze above 9500. snow softening below 8700 n side compass mellow angle in sun. Forecast had more heat in afternoon.
