Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Persistent Weak Layer
Problem #1 Comments
The video attached shows 175 cm (70 inches) of snow at 7200 ft. I found only a couple of inches of facets on the ground and none midpack. Strong snowpack at this elevation. There was very little snow at this elevation on Dec. 11th and thus nothing to turn to facets.
Avalanche Problem #2
Problem
Wind Drifted Snow
Problem #2 Comments
South winds on the ridges have put some wind on the leeward slopes. The warmer temps seem to be keeping it in place, no activity with ski cuts.
Comments
There are ski and board tracks everywhere and some bold uptracks as well. See photo, blue line. Second photo of wind loading. Video of the snowpack at 7200ft.
