Comments
Under clear skies, above freezing temps, and a light breeze, I went up to the steep chutes above Red Pine Return via Pink Pine Ridge this morning. This is the first time this season I've skied anything steep and north facing and while the PWL is still easily identifiable, there were no signs of instability even in an area I would put in the 'extreme terrain' category.
It looks like many of the south facing chutes in LCC have run in the last couple of days although I think it is likely we will continue to see wet loose slides in these same areas. It feels strange that now north facing areas are safer.
