Snow Characteristics Comments
Despite the warm temperatures, the snow conditions are holding up rather well. There is still nice dense powder on slopes not getting direct sun, but the south facing slopes do have a crust that softened up some today. I did not observe any wet snow issues.

Red Flags Comments
Traveled into the Boundary Creek Drainage today after getting some second hand info on an avalanche that happened in the area maybe several days ago. The snow pack set up here is much thinner and more developed weak sugary faceted snow near the ground and makes up nearly half of the snow pack.

Problem #1 Comments
This area has a thinner snow pack, maybe around 40" and has a much weaker structure with nearly half of the snow pack made up of some type of faceted snow. Although the chances of triggering an avalanche are getting less, the terrain around here is still a little concerning as seen by the recent avalanche.
Comments
On this northeast facing slope around 9,800' nearly half of the snow pack is some form of faceted snow that starts near the bottom and ends where the card is. The snow pack feels like it has adjusted to the slab on top, but would not fully trust the set up here.
This avalanche is several days old on a northeast facing slope and very likely triggered by skiers in the area. It was probably triggered either from a distance or by skiers nearby and where the snow pack was a little thinner.
