Comments
Headed up to White Pine Lake for the first time since the big storm cycle this morning. Everything is crusted except for North facing and shady northerly snow. South aspect currently has a stout 1" melt freeze crust, North facing is still skiing great. Lots of evidence of wet loose snow from the past couple days, we were off the mountain before anything warmed up today. Storm total from the weekend is around 20cm, it's sitting on top of a thin crust, likely the rime from 2/18. Light SE winds with moderate gusts was transporting a little bit of snow, some of yesterdays tracks were filled in by it, but it wasn't a concern where we traveled. Snowpack is generally 180-230cm deep.
Noticed a large avalanche that I don't remember seeing reported on the East slope above White Pine lake as well, photo below.
