Comments
HS was around 75cm at 9K. Lower down was around 60cm. Noted surface hoar developing at bottom of drainage, and some wet loose off the rocks of the West Couloir (see photos). Some of the larger paths slid earlier with crowns visible in the upper steep rolls, and seem prime to go again.
There is a bunch of variability in the slab presence and as expected faceting throughout the snowpack. The cross loaded ramps had a stiffer slab around 1F, and lower down on some ramps the slab would be 4F, about 15cm under the surface with sandbox all below. It's easy to get lured into different exits here, but with poor snowpack structure and a bunch of overhead/connected slopes that can hit the creek bottom with ease it's easy to get into trouble quickly here, and that's without merit to the rocks still.
Of note, the NFL layer facets are developing some cupping into the depth hoar with sizes approaching 3mm - see photo.
Considerable where the PWL lies, Moderate elsewhere.
