High pressure, clear, no wind, sunny and warm by midday.

Loud powder. Surface hoar and faceting abounds; lots of falling through the snow while making turns. Surface hoar in some locations was 3 to 4 *centimeters*. We joked about skiing on potato chips.

Red Flags Comments
Cracking and collapsing noted quite a few times on northerly terrain above about 7700ft. One crack was about 15-20 feet long. Easy ECT about 40cm down on the facets/depth hoar between the crusts.

Tried to capture the potato chip surface hoar ca. 8200 feet.
