Many, many, many collapses, whoomphing, cracking, and zippering on N and NW aspects from elevations between 6,400 ft and 8,600 ft and total snow depths from 1 foot to 3 feet. Collapses occurred on open slopes, in trees, in areas with dense underbrush, in small clearings, and slopes that are scree/talus fields with rocks only semi covered or lurking just below the surface. Collapses propagated up to 100 feet away from the trigger point. Failures occurred on weak, grainy, and facetted (crappy) snow buried 6" to 12" below the surface. All travel was on slopes under 30 degrees.
