Comments
Cracking and collapsing was widespread today throughout travels despite the shockingly thin coverage. Whoomphing was commonplace as the snowpack mocked us for our decisions, with associated cracking noted up to 40 feet away. Snowpack was sensitive, but thin cover is keeping connectivity to a minimum. If the next round of weather bring much better coverage to the zone, danger level could rise commensurately.

Despite the overall thin, and weak, snowpack, pits showed enough slight changes in hardness from 2 decomposing crusts, F to F-/4F+, that failures were possible. East facing, 8900, CT12 below the lower crust layer.

2nd pit, NW @ 9060 feet, showed more layering of equally subtle hardness differences and large facets at the bottom. Failure at CT8 on basal facets.
