Comments
It was a short tour today to stretch my legs in the beautiful sunshine. Parking was quite limited at 9:15am which is probably due to the Holiday crowds. I skinned up from Alta Central through Grizzly Gulch and up to Twin Lakes Pass. My original plan was to do two laps through the Patsy trees, but I only ended up doing one run because I chose to dig a pit and explore our interesting snowpack. Most parties I saw were lapping the east side of Twin Lakes Pass area towards the reservoir and skiing fallline from the summit on Patsy Marley. I didn't see anyone else on my brief decent through the trees.
I noticed a few parties of hikers and snowshoers who were out and meandering around in Grizzly Gulch. I asked them if they were carrying beacons, and they said no but they had thought about purchasing beacons one day. They remarked that they didnt think there was enough snow on the ground to avalanche.
