Problem #2 Comments
In many places the new snow has settled out and isn't being transported by the wind but in isolated areas there is significant windloading. Looking down into Fire Water run, the whole area was windloaded. I expect the winds and the new snow tonight will create isolated touchy windslabs for the next few days.
Comments
Started touring at 0845 from Spruces to Little Water via Dog Lake. Trailhead was in the low 30s and skies were overcast. The skintrack is pretty rocky towards the bottom. Once up on little water around 1000, winds were gusting strong. Looking over into Fire Water run and off of Little Water, there was a lot of windloading from the last storm. I skied down over in the trees before coming down around 1200. By the time I left, the storm had rolled in and the first flakes were beginning to fall. This was the first tour in the last two weeks that didn't have cracking and collapsing which I expect will re-emerge with this next bit of snow.
