Problem #1 Comments
Traveled up from the Summer Road Over to Catherine's Pass today and noticed a small shallow fresh crown in an open shot on a NW aspect at 10200'. Further investigation showed 15' wide 22cm deep crown that ran 5'. Failed on 1.5mm December 11 FCsf with 1F Slab on top. Performed an ECT adjacent to the crown ECTP4 Failing on FCsf (video below).
Comments
While this avalanche was small (and why I am putting it in Obs) it continues confirm what many of the observations are sharing; all evidence is in agreement we have a snowpack primed for larger and more connected avalanches once we get more of a uniform load.
