General ob from 9800' NW slope near Martha Bowl.
HS 60-65cm. 4F from ground to just under 30cm, then F hardness to surface. See photo of sample.
The ground still smelled like autumn, as we experienced quite the shift from fall to winter.
Great day to travel through several aspects. Skied SE and NE. The SE was taking some heat by midday, but still skied well before getting too warm - should help with settlement. NE slopes around 10,400' were wispy with sluffing in steeper terrain. The snow has settled with some duff on top and is skiing well. Just mind the rocks, stumps, and tread lightly.
Rating low for now. The upper levels of the snow are weak and very light - and lacked any cohesive slab on my travels. But with incoming weather and wind for Saturday, things will be changing.
Great day to be out!
