Comments
First day out on skis. 13 inches of settled snow at 8750ft. On the sheltered north I discovered some graupel at the base capped with a few cm of denser old snow. The new snow is mostly right side up however compression tests showed density inversions within the upper half of the new snow. On the south half of the compass it's new snow on dirt. And finally, in exposed ridgeline terrain the wind was enough out of the west that snow was moving to the east.
