Comments
Got out early to beat the heat and avoid people. Skied mostly up around upper Red Pine Lake.
There was soft dry snow on NNW through NNE above 10k until about noon, then widespread natural roller-balling started on all northerlies up to at least 11,000ft by 130pm. We didn't observe any natural sloughs on the high north, but the snow surface, unfortunately, was temperature affected to the top. Natural sloughing (sz 1s) were observed on easterlies around 1230pm. We didn't observe any instability on the facet crust interface which was a player over the weekend. The morning was clear and cool and convective cumulous clouds were widespread by midday with quite warm temps. Winds were calm.
