Traveled up Broads Fork today thinking that the lower elevations were less hazardous, and walking in dirt for a few miles, makes for way less people in the drainage. We skied the bottom half of Bonkers avoiding the upper steep portion, then continued on to the Diving Board for a run. The snow on the E facing stayed relatively dry until 2:00pm with minimal wet activity except for some point releases and roller balls on the more SE facing. The top of the DB apron is just a bit over 9000ft and at this elevation on the E facing there was no old snow from earlier in the week, thus no facets or thin crusts, just 6 to 8 inches of dense creamy snow on a frozen bed surface. we stayed away from steep slopes to avoid triggering any sort of wet or dry slabs and it never got hot enough to worry about wet activity above us. Also most of the usual glide avalanche zones had already run last week leaving large frozen debris piles.
photos: some minor wet activity off the rocks on the DB, some dry sluffs in the back of the drainage and some of last weeks glide avalanche action.
Thinking the hazard was considerable up high more like moderate in the terrain covered.
