Snow Characteristics Comments
Seemed like there was 2 to 3 inches from last night with of total of about 5 on NE facing Little Superior. There was a icy frozen melt-freeze crust underlying the new snow on all but high NE facing where the bottom was carvable. Just a few tiny breaks of sun dampened the S end of the compass.
Comments
Headed into the Cardiac area from the LCC side today, the wind was blowing from the N down in the drainage but it was cranking especially hard on the ridge line, and moving snow, but it wasn't really slabbing up the new snow except right off the ridge line. Bottom feeding was the norm today but it was especially firm on the S,W, and NW. The chicken heads are welded in place and I quickly learned to avoid them at all costs. There was no new activity noted except sluffing in steep terrain. If the wind continues to blast out of the N the N facing slopes will be scoured too the old frozen surface in their top portions.
