Travel was up Argenta slide path to Kessler peak. We began around 7am. Snow in Argenta was damp with a thin surface crust all the way up to (about) 9000 ft. Once making it to the base of Argenta trees the snow began to dry out and feel good. On the West ridge up to Kessler peak winds were gusty at moderate speeds out of the SW. There was notable transport along the ridge, however, all test slopes we tested on N and NW terrain yielded no results. The snow was very glued in and little to no sluff occured. The only locations where the snow felt slabby was on exposed ridges.
Weather during the day brought close to an hour of heavy graupel fall from 8-9. Then scattered stellars snowfall from 9-12. After 12, the graupel began falling again for another 45mins. Hard to say how this graupel will effect new snow stability but is good information to note for known graupel pooling area's as more snow continues to fall.
On our final run we tested a E facing slope. Results were fast moving slough that entrained storm snow and was long running. We skied out around 1:15 and conditions down low were tough! Really wet, sticky, heavy snow.
