Scattered clouds all over, but a primarily sunny and warm day when we were traveling. Winds were moderate to high on ridgelines, but otherwise pretty mild. Saw scoured slopes and some transport occurring.

A warmer and sunnier day than I was expecting out there. We traveled on a variety of surfaces as well. When traveling uphill on South-facing aspects the low and mid-elevations held a thin melt-freeze crust, not quite a boilerplate crust, but enough of a noticeable crust that we broke through while skinning. Upper elevation and ridgeline south-facing aspects had a stout wind-crust or were scoured from the elevated winds. On the North-facing aspects shaded slopes still had dense loose snow from last weekend, whereas any North-facing aspects that saw sun became damp very quickly. Throughout the day the North-facing slopes were becoming notability damp and we saw many signs of wet snow, such as small loose-wet avalanches and widespread roller balls. While we didn't see any large wet-loose avalanches today, I think that increased sun tomorrow would lead to more widespread wet activity on all aspects.
While we did see scouring where we traveled, we didn't see any signs of instability due to wind-drifted snow. The monitors had stout cornices, but most of the activity that was seen was wet snow-related, not wind drifted snow-related.
We did stick our shovels in, on No-Name bowl on a NE aspect around 9700'. The new snow is right-side up sitting atop of a previous thin melt-freeze or sun crust. In the pit, we got no results. (ECTX)
