Snow Characteristics Comments
Started out hot, but the early afternoon cloud cover kept the snow in place. Walked across all aspect except South and in steeper areas (East, North, West) the storm snow is very close to wanting to slide, but there wasn't quite enough sun to make it happen. Lots of long running slow moving sloughs upon skiing the chutes proper.
More importantly, down low at the trailhead and in steep terrain trap areas the snow is coming off the walls and leaving nothing but dirt. Once this next storm and the associated cold air passes, I'd be wary of the subsequent warmer days and lingering hiking parties down low that are out in droves and eager to get some fresh air.

Wet slide with broken branches that crosses the summer trail, just above the wilderness boundary sign.
