The wind continues to blow from the W-SW as it has for the last bunch of days decreasing the amount of soft skiable snow. Temperatures were warm out of the wind, but in the the high alpine the surface of the snow did not warm up much.

Melt-freeze crust or damp on all aspects below 9400ft, wind crust or just plain wind hammered on upper elevation W and NW, some kinda soft settled powder mixed with graupel on high elevation protected N facing.
Comments
Went back up White Pine to see if there was any soft snow left, did a run in one of the NW facing couliors off of Red Baldy, then proceeded to the very back of the drainage for a N facing run down to the lake. The snow on the W facing was pretty winded except in the top were it was more protected from the wind, breakable crust and chalky down most of the apron. The N facing line had more consistently soft snow and was more protected from the W winds, it also had a large amount of graupel pooling on the lower slope. The Dickens Crust can still be found on many wind scoured features and doesn't seem to want to break down. Wet activity was minimal because of a cool wind and cloud cover later in the day. It could get interesting if we receive a good load of snow, the DC has faceted snow under it in most places I looked and there's plenty of firm bed surfaces for slides to run on.
photos: DC crust, bootable W facing off of Red Baldy, and some of the last soft snow on the high N
