I think steep, rocky, complex terrain or slopes that avalanched near the ground earlier this season are about the only places you're gonna buy an avalanche today.

Not particularly problematic at this juncture, but a crust/facet sandwhich is now buried about a foot deep. We need to see how things materialize, especially with a storm on the way and surface snow growing weak on sheltered north facing slopes

Observation is a compilation of Thurs/Fri field days.
I've covered a bunch of ground in the past few days and seen nothing but a solid looking snowpack in the western Uinta's... good news!
