Snow Characteristics Comments
Quite the diverse day of snow conditions. Damp down low in the sun and shade. Sun crusts up higher, various wind crusts at all elevations, and some spots on the ridge I skinned up that were faceted loose up to a couple feet deep. The slope I skied had a broken down wind crust that looked terrible but actually skied okay for the most part.
Comments
I dug a pit at 10600'. Total depth was 125cm (4ft). A little less than expected. Three noticeable layers that I have been seeing around the range were non reactive in an ECT. The surface snow seems a little weak though. We'll have to see how things look after the forecasted snow coming this weekend.
