Below 6500 the surface is most a breakable crust. Above 6500 there is a maximum of about 5-6 inches of solid snow on top of the Feb. 7th rain crust.

A tale of two crust is what I found up at 8200 ft. The rain crust has a layer of graupel below it an this is sitting on another weaker crust. Easy failures in this graupel layer. I was able to reproduce this on small test slopes as well, no photos though. I believe it to be a bigger problem if loaded with either a wind slab or next storm.
