5-10 cms (2-4") of weakening snow on top of Feb 7 rain/rime crust ("Dickens Crust" as February 7 is Charles Dickens birthday, and this crust may prove to be a Dickens!)
Comments
Biggest issue I noted is the weakening snow surface where there is 5-10 cms (2-4") of weakening snow at the surface. The current snow surface may act as a weak layer once we receive a load of new snow on top. The rain/rime crust will act as an excellent bed surface.
With snow forecasted for later this weekend, the avalanche hazard may rise.
For now, enjoy the Low hazard conditions.
