Comments
Today my human and I started at the trailhead with only one other car in the parking lot at 1200. We were however caught by an unusual sight, a Piston Bully tracked vehicle cruising up the road. It was mostly cloudy with a few bursts of sun, but warm so I didn't need my coat until up at the weather station. At the weather station there was a moderate breeze from the north. My human was slightly worried about snow loading on the south aspect of Goldminers, but that was not the case. Seams like the wind moved all the snow to the north and loaded many slopes. There was very little movement of snow back to the south. My human decided to ski the eastern side of Goldminers through the trees to find some softer snow (but that makes it harder for me). My human estimated it was 40% wind scour, 40% dust on crust, and 20% pockets of powder. There were no other tracks so I had fun running all over the mountain. Great doggie day.
