Problem #1 Comments
High wind gusts (40s) transporting snow. Drifting heavy, wet snow or gropple. Some sensitive soft drifts in the AM, but by noon snow below 7500ft was heavy.
Comments
Observed rain crust below 8000ft in non-sheltered terrain. The crust layer was being influenced by heavy wind drifting, forming heavy dense snow on the 1/2 cm crust layer in open meadows and glades. Should make for interesting conditions with warming temperatures and heavy snow fall.
