We skinned in from Neff's Canyon, then bootpacked and skied the Memorial Couloir #5. Weather was calm, with high thin overcast. Upon completion at 1pm snow was dry all the way down to the parking lot. Approx 1" medium density new snow fell yesterday. In the couloir it was moderately redistributed (overnight?) into up to 4" wind drifted pockets on NW (skier's L side) of couloir. The pockets were unreactive due to small nature and the broken up underlying layer from a moderate amount of preexisting tracks. Numerous quick pits the entire way up found a generally right side up snowpack in the top 50cm, mostly in the 1F range with 4F in the top couple inches. Unreactive to hand shears. No substantial consistent layers of graupel were found, although midway in the couloir copious amounts were present on the surface. Below 8000' we found subsurface layers to be a similar hardness yet more granular, indicating previous moistness. A bit choppy due to previous tracks, but generally good skiing.
