Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Persistent Weak Layer
Trend
Decreasing Danger
Problem #1 Comments
I wanted to check on the persistent weak layer buried on New Years on mid elevation slopes. Although I could still find this, it did not produce a propagating failure.
Avalanche Problem #2
Problem
Wet Snow
Trend
Increasing Danger
Problem #2 Comments
The snow on northerly facing slopes and in the trees at lower elevations is saturated and very soft. In several areas we observed fresh roller balls, pin wheels, and surface sluffs.

Comments
The snow is mostly stable in the Spring Hollow Area, but we did not venture onto steep upper elevation slopes. Low elevation snow is soft and saturated, especially in shady terrain and in the trees. Continued warmth and/or rain will likely cause increasing danger of wet avalanche activity.
