Comments
The south facing approach up the Flagstaff skin track found a 1cm crust 10-30cm down under the midweek snow. This new snow was 'lower' density (4F-) and dry. Some quick isolations revealed clean shears above crust, however, in other locations the new snow layer was bonded well to the crust.
We found 15cm new snow with no slab quality overlying a crust in Holy Toledo. Glorified dust on crust skiing.
Riming was present on trees above ~9000ft, but minimal effect was found on the snow surface. Snowfall began about 11am totalling 1-2 inches through midday. Light SW winds on Cardiff ridge produced minimal new snow transportation.
A quick pit dug at ~9800ft, NNE revealed a generally right side up snowpack in the top 130cm.
