Comments
Newer snow is well consolidated, but lower half of the pack is moist facets that will pack. There is a lot of slash in this area from recent timber sale, and landmines were everywhere, hollow around stumps and slash, tipy-toed our way down but will improve with more snow. Slope angle just under 30, up to lower 30's on steeper rollovers. We experienced no cracking or collapsing, just punching through in unexpected places. Entire pack held together on ECT with no failures in area of snowpit
Video
We dug pit near the top of the ridge in a more sheltered area
