Cruised around a few drainages today and was curious to check out some terrain similar to the Mill B slide, to see if I could get an ECT result.
At just under 10K on a WSW aspect in Mineral Fork - in a sheltered area, I got an ECTN13. The failure was 45cm below the surface and the facets were hard to decifer yet present. This location didn't have a crust. Of note the chute to the right of my pit had signs of nasty wind damage from the prior storm and more exposure - so perhaps more wind here and no sun/crust led to different results.
Curious to see the ob from the Mill B event. Thinking that the crust and possible facets from recystralization radiation connected it, and the lack of the crust in my location allowed for no propagatin from the ECT.
Also of note, 90cm down from the surface were obvoius facets, about 1-2mm. They weren't reactive and hopefully will continue to get compacted and buried, but took a photo of them for good measure.
