Comments
Travel today was up from the Alta Guard, Pole Line Pass, entry into Cardiff via the Keyhole, Cardiac Ridge, Ivory Flakes, Rock Slabs. Minor wet activity in the form of roller balls and point releases was noted on the South facing across from Alta and the SE facing on Cardiac Ridge. No real red flags today, very minor sluffing on the steepest slopes, settled non winded powder sitting on windboard in most terrain, a little deeper and lighter in the wind sheltered terrain. The wind did start to transport snow on LSB, Cardiac Bowl and Cardiac Ridge later in the day but the surface of the snow is not exceptionally weak right now due to warm temperatures and a lack of cold clear nights. If it starts to snow tomorrow we might have to deal with another temperature crust on light density snow on the south facing terrain.
photos: wet activity on SE facing Cardiac Ridge, and wind transporting snow on LSB in the afternoon.
