Problem #1 Comments
Lingering wind slabs from 20200101 when WNW Winds remained active in the Moderate to Strong category for more than 36 hours straight. Collapsing in isolated pockets of Wind Slabs on E and SE aspects. Though the older Wind Slabs will become more Stubborn, the Winds appear to be active for the next 12 to 24 hours in the Upper Elevation Terrain. Structure under these Winds Slabs is suspect due to Facets below.

Problem #2 Comments
New PWL appears to becoming an issue on ESE throgh SSE aspects. Last weeks cold temperatures and dribbles of snow intermixed with periods of Solar allowed for Facet growth beneath the latest M/F crust that has formed. It may be down up to 45 cm in places and in others closer to 25 cm. Spatial Variability appears to be an issue identifying this issue, but it was also observed in Mary Ellen Gulch two days ago as well as in Mid BCC. Collapsing and Cracking was observed, but attempts to remotely trigger steep aspects were unsuccessful due to the stiffness of the bridge from the latest round of Wind Loading and subsequent Slab formation. Great care should be taken when attacking anything Steep on Southerly Facing Large Sustained Slopes. This problem is not going away quickly and continued NW-erly Wind Loading may enhance the potential for this issue. High Consequence Moderate, and a typically unusual and unique problem, that appears to be an issue here only with the lower angle Sun periods.
