Comments
We found widespread surface hoar feathers and weak sugary grains called near surface facets, capping a smooth rain-crust at lower elevations. Seems like the warm temperatures will destroy this, but it's still pretty weak and all over the place.
The strong south winds that are blasting exposed upper elevation slopes did not make it down into the terrain in the Wood Camp Area, and it was mostly calm, with only a light breeze blowing in open areas. We did not notice any drifting. But, from back in Logan I could see large and impressive plums of wind driven snow coming off the Wellsvilles, back-lit by the sunset.
