Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Persistent Weak Layer
Problem #1 Comments
Spent the day in White Pine for an Avvy 2 Class. We wanted to dig a pit on lower elevation N facing terrain to see if the persistent weak layer was a concern. Compression Test produced CT26BK but the break was not planar. Extended Column ECTX. Below is a photo of the bonding facets in our pit near the ground.
Avalanche Problem #2
Problem
Wind Drifted Snow
Problem #2 Comments
We did notice an increase in wind throughout the day.
