Problem #1 Comments
From the pits I dug, it seems that the old October faceted snow is not to be found below 8300-8200ft. The pack is very consolidated and uniform. 140cm (55inches) at 8200ft. Minor soft slab on the upper ridges and down lower I saw evidence of storm slab on steep slopes that failed on a storm graupel. See photo. Surface hoar forming may make it interesting for the next storm cycle.
Comments
photo: lower elevation (7000ft) older storm slab that failed on storm graupel.
