Problem
Persistent Weak Layer
Problem #1 Comments
Distinct, homogeneous faceted layer exists 30cm up from soil (60cm down in a 90cm snowpack.) Facets were generally unreactive - unyielding to a column test, failing only with repeated hard hits.
Extended column test showed similar results, with no fracture occuring until full arm strike #9, and no propogation occuring.
