Snow Characteristics Comments
A decent refreeze last night and a rain crust form yesterdays steady rain made for some firm riding this morning, making it hard to keep the sled from heating up. The moderate southwest winds kept snow conditions a little firm till close to noon when the snow finally began to soften.
Comments
The highway gate opened yesterday with about three miles of pavement till the snow begins. Surprising how quick the lower elevation snow melted.
Some recent wet activity in the upper Whitney Basin, once these wet slides get moving they can pile up some heavy wet dense debris piles.
