Snow Characteristics Comments
Snow conditions held up quite well today with supportable riding into and out of the Gold Hill area. Some soft punchy areas near tree wells, but no real issues as I was leaving around 1:30.
Comments
1. A quick outing this morning to see how things are holding up and check the highway conditions. Patchy areas of pavement are beginning to show up, but still decent conditions getting out of the trail head. 2. Conditions held up quite well with supportable riding into and out of Gold Hill.
Still a layered snow pack on upper elevation north facing slopes with various crusts and very wet snow near the surface with damp snow below. Still needs time to transition into a summer snow pack. Some good roller balls as the snow surface warms up.
