Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Wind Drifted Snow
Problem #1 Comments
Wind slabs and new snow were bonding poorly to old snow. Triggered a manageable wind slab 6-12” deep in upper Two Dogs of Days Fork (northeast aspect). Ran about 200 feet but was limited mainly to the 6” of new snow and I was able to get out of the way as it ran down a gully. Similar issue on wind loaded terrain exiting Toledo Bowl. Triggered a slide that ran down a gully. Both were manageable but surprising.
