Wind slabs in the alpine. Cold snow on N aspects, MF crust elsewhere. Extremely variable surface conditions in the backcountry.

Poor structure and easy shears in our pits. Plenty of co/cr on the surface. Raised tracks on windward aspects. No signs of recent avalanche activity. Deepest probed HS was 315cm.
